YAPTON BEEREX IS BACK FOR 2023!

It is with great pleasure that we can report that the 31st Yapton Beerex is now returning to Yapton and Ford Village Hall, Main Road, Yapton on the 12th 13th and 14th May 2023.

If you haven’t been before this is a very unusual event in that the hall stands on Yapton Village Green which affords the opportunity for al fresco relaxation over a pint or two. The second weekend in May has in recent years afforded some spectacularly good weather, so fingers crossed.

In addition to 50 perfectly cooled real ales there will be a Keg bar, ciders and food. Cash and cards will be accepted for everything with tokens for sale to buy drinks.

These will have been selected from both national and local sources by CAMRA volunteers who will be on hand to guide you through the various styles.

A vintage bus (41 year old classic double decker Atlantean) will run on Saturday afternoon to and from The Murrell Arms near Barnham Station at regular published intervals for a very reasonable £1.50 voluntary donation per journey (cash only please – right change appreciated).

Available times and prices are:-

  • Friday 12th May 6pm to 11pm £8
  • Saturday 13th May 11am to 9pm £8
  • Saturday 13th May £4 from 5pm
  • Sunday 14th May 12noon to 3pm £4

Friday and all day Saturday ticket holders will get a free half pint cask ale/cider voucher and card carrying CAMRA members additionally get a £2 voucher for the session they attend. A link to the ticketing website can be found at www.westernsussexcamra.org.uk and this site will also have festival details, links to facebook and twitter pages, a bus timetable and an interactive beer list in the fullness of time.

This year’s charity is Prostate Cancer UK. 1 in 8 men will be diagnosed with this at some point. The charity’s ambition is simple – to fund research to prevent the disease killing men.

If you attend our festival we are asking that you please donate any unused beer tokens by placing them in the box by the festival entrance as you leave – cash donations in the buckets will be welcome too. Also below is access to our own Just Giving page by simply clicking the link: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/yapton-beer-festival-35232 . Many thanks !

Our interactive beer list for this year's festival makes it easy to find the perfect beer for you. Filter by style or ABV, click through to brewers' websites, and check in on Untappd.

Transport update

We are reliably informed that there WILL be a train service all day Saturday 13th May from around 8am. Full details are yet to be published but we don't expect too much disruption apart from no Gatwick Express services. In the light of this our shuttle bus WILL be running as timetabled so please don't change your plans and come and support us.

Trains are running normally on Sunday. There are no trains at all on Friday evening however but plenty of 700 buses stop 2 minutes walk from the hall for all days sessions.
