Tasting Panel Training is open to any CAMRA member interested in joining a local CAMRA Tasting Panel. It is designed to give you the skills and confidence to objectively assess beer, learn about CAMRA’s beer styles, use a CAMRA Tasting Card and hopefully get involved by joining a Tasting Panel.
If you then join a CAMRA Tasting Panel you can:
Contribute to writing the beer descriptions in CAMRA’s Good Beer Guide
Contribute to the decision as to which beers go forward to CAMRA’s Champion Beer of Britain Competition
Join your local Tasting Panel on visits to local breweries
At the end of the training you can decide to join a panel by completing 12 tasting cards over 12 weeks and gain a Certificate of Competence, independently accredited by People 1st, who are part of the Hospitality Guild. If you decide not to join a Tasting Panel, you’ll receive a Certificate of Attendance.
Organised and run by Trish Savill, CAMRA Trainer.
The Campaign for Real Ale - an independent, voluntary organisation which campaigns for real ale, cider and perry as well as protecting and promoting community pubs and clubs and fighting for consumer rights.
CAMRA is considered one of the most successful consumer organisations across Europe. Founded by four real ale enthusiasts back in 1971, today we represent beer drinkers and pub-goers across the UK.
Our vision is to have quality real ale, cider and perry and thriving pubs in every community. We do this by supporting and encouraging the beer and pubs trade by running beer festivals, lobbying Government for change, running numerous awards and developing bespoke pub finders and guides.
There’s plenty for everyone, whether you’re a dedicated campaigner, a beer connoisseur looking to learn more about beer or just want to meet up with friends in your local. Why not join the beer movement?
You can join for just £30.50 a year by visiting join.camra.org.uk
