Following the success of the previous guided walks, Heritage Open Days 2026 will include a guided historical walk in Kelham Island, an area in inner-city Sheffield which is currently 'on the up' (according to 'Time Out' magazine, it's the 35th 'Coolest Place on the planet.'). We will encompass both aspects of industrial, and social, heritage and of the ‘Beer Capital’ status owned by the City of Sheffield.
The short walk (one and a half hours, including a briefing at the start) will finish at the Kelham island Museum before we adjourn to the Beer Garden of the Fat Cat.
The walk will be led by ‘Sheffield’s Real Heritage Pubs’ editor, Dave Pickersgill.
