Brewed on the Union Tasting with Thornbridge & Roger Protz - Thursday 13 February @ 18:00

(0 tickets remaining)

Join legendary beer writer Roger Protz as he chats with Thornbridge’s Head Brewer, Rob Lovatt, and Dominic Driscoll about the fascinating history of the iconic Burton Union system. This 19th-century brewing method was originally crafted to cleanse beer of yeast and create brilliantly clear pale ales. Earlier this year, Carlsberg Marston’s Brewing Company made the tough call to close the last of these historic Union sets in Burton, but not before donating one to Thornbridge. The Marston’s team headed to Bakewell to set it up, and now Rob and his crew are using this classic kit to create some extraordinary brews. Don’t miss the chance to sample the unique beers they've crafted using this timeless technique! - This ticket does not cover admission to the festival, you must also buy a festival admission ticket for the day of this tasting.

Campaign for Real Ale

The Campaign for Real Ale - an independent, voluntary organisation which campaigns for real ale, cider and perry as well as protecting and promoting community pubs and clubs and fighting for consumer rights.

CAMRA is considered one of the most successful consumer organisations across Europe. Founded by four real ale enthusiasts back in 1971, today we represent beer drinkers and pub-goers across the UK.

Our vision is to have quality real ale, cider and perry and thriving pubs in every community. We do this by supporting and encouraging the beer and pubs trade by running beer festivals, lobbying Government for change, running numerous awards and developing bespoke pub finders and guides.

There’s plenty for everyone, whether you’re a dedicated campaigner, a beer connoisseur looking to learn more about beer or just want to meet up with friends in your local. Why not join the beer movement?

You can join for just £30.50 a year by visiting join.camra.org.uk
