This event is a short walking tour in the Kelham Island/ Neepsend area of Sheffield. It will encompass both aspects of the industrial heritage of the area and of the ‘Beer Capital’ status owned by the City of Sheffield. Sheffield has more breweries per head than any other city in the UK.
We will commence at the ‘Fat Cat’ and proceed to Neepsend. Along the way, we will take a circuitous route through aspects of the brewing and industrial history of Sheffield before completing the walk, close to the now derelict, Stones Brewery. There will also be one en route refreshment stop.
We will meet in the upstairs room of the Fat Cat at 2:00 pm for a short introduction. We will leave about 2:15 pm.
Copies of both the 5th edition of the 'Sheffield's Real Heritage Pubs' book and a 'Pub Heritage Walk' booklet may be on sale (cash only).
