Sheffield’s Pub Heritage

Friday 20th October 2023: 15:00-16:00

An illustrated talk from pub heritage expert, Dave Pickersgill.

This event is part of the Sheffield CAMRA Steel City Beer Festival 2023 (SCBF47).

Dave will:

  1. provide a brief overview of the work of the CAMRA National Pub Heritage Group
  2. describe the categories in which CAMRA groups Heritage Pubs
  3. illustrate several heritage pubs in Sheffield
  4. briefly consider the value of pubs, beer and brewing to Sheffield’s economy and external image

Dave Pickersgill is Pub Heritage Officer for Sheffield & District CAMRA and editor of the book, ’Sheffield’s Real Heritage Pubs.’ He leads local pub heritage walks and has had beer-related articles published in many outlets, including: Beer, Beer Matters, Imbiber, Now Then, Pub Heritage Society Newsletter, Sheffield Telegraph and What’s Brewing.

A free download of the book is available at: https://sheffield.camra.org.uk/rhp/. A limited number of paper copies will be available for sale.

This event will take place in the Power Room: over the bridge from the Upper Hall, then turn left.

This talk is part of the 2023 Sheffield Steel City Beer Festival. There is no charge for attending. However, you will need to enter the Beer Festival in advance. This entry will incur the Beer Festival admission fee:

non-CAMRA members: £19.00 - CAMRA members: £15.00 (entry includes £10.00 beer tokens and £3.00 glass deposit)
