To celebrate our 15th anniversary of being a CAMRA branch in our own right, we will be holding a ‘Beer and Burger’ festival at Ruskin Sports Village from Friday 22 – Sunday 24 September, in association with our charity partner Willowbrook Hospice.
The festival will be held at Ruskin Sports Village, who we can't thank enough for their support, making use of their excellent bar and restaurant facilities. The Wicket bar will be open selling its usual fair of lagers, wines and spirits – while the brand new outdoor decked area will house over 30 real ales and real ciders over the weekend, plus there will be a bar showcasing international beers. The Wicket will also be offering a range of delicious burgers to help with the munchies while you're enjoying the real ale. We're planning to have live entertainment, amature sports will be taking place that you can watch, and there are lots of other exciting things in the pipeline so watch this space as we announce more. All days will be open to children with free entry to anyone under 18.
We will also be supporting Willowbrook Hospice as our charity partner for the beer festival. There will be various fundraising activities taking place during the festival and opportunities for those attending to donate in a number of ways.
We are a group of volunteers who love real ale and are here to provide you with all the local news on the real ale scene in St Helens and the surrounding districts. Like any other CAMRA branch, we have an elected committee who are appointed once a year at an Annual General Meeting, which is open to all CAMRA members. St Helens and Districts CAMRA comes under Merseyside and Cheshire region. We campaign for quality real ale, cider and perry in thriving pubs across St Helens and its surrounding districts.
